Checking Pupils | EMS Patient Assessment

Question: When do you check your patients pupils?

A – Trauma or suspected stroke only

B – Every patient.

Be honest.

I’d like to think that if you are watching my videos that it’s B.

Yet, during patient assessment it can be an easy thing to overlook.

Be sure to slow down and check those pupils. They could be an assessment finding that will lead you to vital patient care interventions.
